The machine org chart is filling up fast.
A former Twitter CEO just raised $100M to build search for AI agents, while OpenAI is reportedly turning chats into ad inventory with better attribution than half the media plan.
Add biometric borders, battlefield autonomy, and a JPMorgan culture win for AI upskilling, and the operating thesis starts to look clear: infrastructure is getting smarter, more surveilled, and slightly more corporate.
The only open question is whether humans remain in the workflow, or just in the compliance deck.

Ex-Twitter CEO’s Parallel Web Systems raises $100M at $2B valuation

Photo by Elena Mozhvilo on Unsplash
The former Twitter CEO’s new bet is that web search will split: one layer for humans, another for machines. Parallel Web Systems just raises $100M Series B at a $2B valuation to build the latter.
Instead of ranking blue links, the company is building infrastructure for AI agents to pull structured, real-time data from the open web. That makes it less a search engine competitor and more an “API-izing the internet” play.
If it works, whoever owns this layer becomes a default dependency for agents the way AWS became for web apps. The new capital both build search for agents and cements Parallel Web’s early claim on the “machine web” as AI-native apps scale.

Elon Musk Takes Stand in Second Day of Trial Against OpenAI
Startup breakups rarely end in small-claims court; they end in discovery. Elon Musk’s second day of testimony against OpenAI turns a cofounder dispute into a referendum on how fast an AI lab can pivot from mission to monetization.
The high-stakes cross-examination isn’t just about who said what in early board meetings. It’s about whether early promises around openness, safety, and nonprofit control can survive once a company sits on generational IP.
For founders, the subtext is brutal: vague mission language and informal governance are now exhibits in court. The structures and emails that felt “temporary” in the scramble to ship are now underpinning the lawsuit and may become the de facto case law for how ambitious AI companies are allowed to evolve.
